ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Joan Andrea Toledo is a Filipino investigative journalist and Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) author and resource speaker, educator, and children’s rights advocate. She is a 2018 Finalist for the Best Investigative Report in the 40th Catholic Mass Media Awards for her Moneytrail of the Marawi Siege series. She is among the top young global leaders in the pioneer batch of the One Young World Ambassadors worldwide. Whilst in London, she received leadership training from Kofi Annan, the former secretary-general of the United Nations, and other world leaders, to strategically address challenges relating to Human Dignity, Universal Education and Interfaith Dialogue. Some of her published works are featured in The Manila Times.
Amparo Pamela Fabe is a Filipino economist, sociologist and security analyst. She has authored over 40 book chapters and international journal articles on counterterrorist financing, communist insurgency and ISIS fighters. She is a co-author of the Handbook on Global Terrorism Financing published by the Stanford University Press in 2019. Her research on state counter-terrorism policies were featured in the Palgrave Macmillan Global Handbook on Counter-Terrorism Policy (2017). She has worked for top American security companies, Pacific Strategies and Assessments and Monkey Forest Consulting.
